Riki Oh – The Walls of Hell (1989)

Director: Tetsu Dezaki

“The dead is dead. He’s earned his freedom.”
What ever happened to anime and manga? Times have changed so much, there are tons of new series out there, but most of them seem to be rip offs from other (often better) older series.
Riki Oh is infamous around the world based on the (ultra cheesy) Low Budget Hong Kong life action film.
There is still no official english translation of the original manga, but at least the first OAV anime is finally available with english (or german) subtitles. Everyone into FIST OF THE NORTHSTAR will love this one. It’s exeptionally well done for it’s time, very graphic and has that nice 80’s/90’s feel to it.
This is based on the same story as the live action film, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
