“Still no students?”
Part 2 is a lot like the first one, in good and bad.
It’s definitely a step up, but the amount of pretentious pathos is just awful.
This time Yip Man struggles to start his teaching school in Hong Kong.
He has to deal with the rivaling schools and their teachers, but half way through the film it’s made clear, that the real enemy are british. It’s made perfectly clear, that they’re almost as evil as the japanese were in part 1. And yes, Bruce Lee is there as well, but it’s pushing hard towards satire.
It’s very enjoyable if you don’t take it too serious.
